We are visiting a school for special needs students this morning, a school that specializes in English this afternoon, and then attending a play this evening. So.....more later tonight, or for you all, a post for tomorrow!!
Question for the students: What does the colors of the Ukrainian flag stand for? Remember...the first student who sends me a comment with the correct answer will get a souvenir!!
More food pictures! You would think we didn't eat in the U.S. (But I am guilty of it myself. I actually put another photo -- of a salad composed as a rose -- on my latest blog.) I see you got some teaching in there too -- fun, eh? Hope all is going well out your way -- d.
ReplyDeleteHi there! We have been eating a great deal...but also the topic of food is one of the things that my students seemed to be fascinated by in my blog. They were feeling sorry for me before we left because they thought that I would be hungry! We are having an amazing experience. Spent the morinignat special education school and then the afternoon at a school that focuses on laguage. Different in many respects but oh so similar. The teachers are very caring, very loving, and have great relationships with the students! Hve fun and see you in a couple of days!!
DeleteMrs. Hamilton-To continue to encourage your students to answer your questions I have told them that I would post their answers for them.
ReplyDeleteZira of 8th period-What does Zaporizhzhya mean? "beyond the rapids"

ReplyDeleteHi Bryce! Great job on your comments. The kids play soccer and basketball. Some of them play volleyball too. They do not seem to be into video games though. They meet their friends in coffee shops and at each others houses.
DeleteIts Bryce again. I just wanted to know what American sports kids like to play there besides soccer?
ReplyDeleteWhat do the beets taste like? Bryce.
ReplyDeleteBryce period 1. The blue and yellow stripes on the ukrainian flag represent grain feilds under a blue sky
ReplyDeleteGreat job! By the way...the beets aren't bad! They taste better fresh thatn from a can!
DeleteIt is Thursday and the students are all asking when you are coming back. They are eager to have you back.
ReplyDeleteOn Wed. I had a few students answer some of the questions that you have asked.
Zane (per 2) Christianity, Greek Catholic, Roman Catholic, and other branches of Catholicism are the main religions.
Brody (per 2) The Ukrainian flag is yellow for properity and blue for peace.
Victoria (per 8) Cossacks are members of a mixed-ethnicity group form southern Russia, Central Asia, or the Ukraine and they are renowned calvary fighters.
Your students have been really great these last two weeks.
